The Surf Club presents Pop-up Clinics!
Yzerfontein Surf Club gives you the opportunity to improve your wave count. This is to catch more waves effectively. Correct surf stance and how to read the waves and how to surf different wave types.
Why Yzerfontein Surf Club we wave one of the best places to learn to surf and knowing the surf in our area we can help you with what you find difficult to do on a wave. We do a surf session and record your surfing analyse the material and will do more sessions as the day allows us to surf.

On the day: At the beach
Friday on day of arrival we will do our first surf session plus we offer place to store and clean your wetsuit for next day. Saturday we will do early morning surf session and will take video’s of your session. We will go for breakfast and analyse the material. Discuss the areas of improvement and practise that on land and again in the surf

Let’s Surf!
The Sunday will do a final surf session again with video to compare and discuss the improvement. All clients are more than welcome to have their video material
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to be a good swimmer?
No, you will be attached to a surfboard at all times and in case of an emergency our instructors who will be close by are qualified lifeguards.
Where do we surf?
We leave from Durbanville Surf Shop and depending on the weather we go to one of three general locations: Muizenberg, Big Bay, or Melkbos.
Are there age requirements?
Yes, unfortunately we only give lessons to kids aged 9-18.
What should I bring?
Sunblock, a towel, a swimsuit, a set of dry clothes, and a wetsuit (which we can provide).
What if the weather is bad?
The great thing about surfing is the fact that is doesn’t matter if its raining, you’re going to get wet anyway! But in the case of really bad weather we will let you know in advance, so that we can arrange another lesson.
Do I need to book in advance?
Yes, please do as we all go through in a van and we can only accommodate a certain number of kids per lesson.
